Meet the Team

Dr. Bernadette Byrne MVB
Founding Veterinarian and Practice Principle

Bernie is the proud owner of Roundwood Veterinary Practice with over 20 years' experience under her belt. A UCD graduate, she began her career working with cattle and sheep in Donegal and Australia before opening her own clinic. Bernie is dedicated to providing practical, high quality care that keeps pets healthy and owners happy, and is known for both her down-to-earth approach as well as her commitment to quality care. Outside of work, she is a busy mum of four who enjoys jogging with friends - solving life's problems one run at a time.
Dr. Megan Anderson BA, MVB, CertAVP, CPEV
Veterinarian and Clinical Manager

Megan completed an undergraduate degree in biochemistry before qualifying as a veterinary surgeon from UCD in 2015. She spent a few years in mixed practice before deciding to focus on small animals, and served as director of a small animal hospital before joining the Roundwood team in early 2025. She has completed an RVCS advanced practitioner certificate and CAETA peaceful euthanasia veterinarian certificate. Her passions include geriatric medicine and pain management. At home she minds an elderly Westie called Pip, a senior cat called Mojo, a goofball lurcher called Oliver, and a few too many houseplants.
Karen Atkinson
Practice Manager

Karen has been with Bernie since 2012 and is a familiar face to all of our clients. She keeps the practice running smoothly and we all know we would be lost without her! Karen has a lifelong love of animals and a strong background in farming, so has always been right at home in the veterinary setting. Outside of work, she is a proud mum of three as well as owner of Millie, a spirited little Jack Russell. She has also spent many years playing camogie, having captained both the Wexford team and her local club to win the all-Ireland finals.
Kaitlin O'Toole RVN
Veterinary Nurse

Katie's passion for veterinary care began when she first started work experience with Roundwood Veterinary Practice in 2015. She qualified from Dundalk Institute of Technology in 2023, and returned to Roundwood as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2024 where she now applies her expertise and care in the place where it all started. She has a particular passion for inpatient care and nurse consultations, where she thrives on the opportunity to build a bond with both pet and owner. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her own dogs, Emily and Cherry, and going for long walks with them.
Niamh Stacey RVN
Veterinary Nurse

Niamh's love of animals began on her family farm. She went on to work as an Animal Care Assistant before qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in 2024. After graduating, Niamh worked at a veterinary university in the Caribbean teaching practical skills. In April 2025, Niamh joined the Roundwood team. She enjoys all aspects of her role, particularly consulting and surgical nursing, supporting pets and owners through every stage of care. Outside of work, Niamh enjoys running and jiving. She's kept busy by her two dogs, Molly and Jess, and her cat, Luna.
Chloe Connolly

Chloe has worked in Roundwood Veterinary Practice since 2021, answering any and all client queries, working alongside our team of vets and nurses, and booking your pets in for whatever they may need, from head to tail! Your pet probably knows her best as 'the one with the treats'!
